Ways to Participate

The DAV 5K is a run, walk, roll and motorcycle ride that honors our nation’s heroes.  All participants are welcome to run, walk, roll or ride their motorcycles.  Handcycle and wheelchair participation is available for all participants.

Run or Walk

Runners/walkers of all abilities are welcome to participate, including children in strollers. Walkers are encouraged to line up behind the runners at the starting line.

Handcycle Roll

The Handcycle Roll will start before the runners/walkers take off and participants will be able to complete the full race course.  Participants should be able to complete the course in 15-20 minutes and are required to wear a helmet.

Handcycle participation is limited to 30 participants per event and course restrictions may vary by city.  When registering, please indicate that you plan to use a handcycle when prompted.  Veteran handcyclists can register as a VIP or for free.

Wheelchair Roll

You may also participate in the DAV 5K using wheelchairs or motorized scooters. Participants will embark along the abbreviated, 1 mile course after all runners and walkers have crossed the start line.  Volunteer assistance is available if needed.  Veteran wheelchair participants can register as a VIP or for free.

Please note, for safety reasons, racing wheelchairs are not permitted.

Motorcycle Honor Ride

To kick off the DAV 5K , a motorcycle group ride will roll past the runners and walkers at the start line adding energy and excitement to the race.

Motorcyclists will also rally at the finish to cheer on the runners and walkers. All riders and passengers must be registered. All makes and models of motorcycles are welcome.  Veteran motorcyclists can register as a VIP or for free.

Please note: Due to permitting restrictions, there will be no Honor Ride in Boston
